Position Summary: The Education Project Officer will directly report to and be technically supervised by the Senior Project Manager in Tehran to implement the Education Project aimed at supporting Afghan children aged 6-12 be ready to enter Iranian Primary schools in Iran. The PO will be responsible for overseeing outreach within communities and working with teams to ensure that project objectives are on track, indicators and targets are achieved, and project impact is ensured. S/he will also support monitoring project progress, and lead on partnership management and accountability. S/he will be required to work constructively with colleagues across the field and country team. The PO will be the focal point in Mashhad for concerned government agencies, ensuring that project objectives delivered by partners are on track and that capacity building plans are developed as and when required. The PO will be expected to travel to target neighborhoods and possible travel outside base location, to monitor project activities, participate in community mobilization and delivery of project activities. The PO is expected to be fluent in English and Farsi. | |
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Program Implementation: (70%)• Coordinate implementation of the Education activities within the scope of the project, as directed by the Senior Project Manager. • In consultation with Senior Project Manager, organize and develop implementation work plans, and monitor activities and their contribution to achieving program deliverables at the field level with RI and Partner staff. Monitoring and Evaluation: (25%)• Participate in needs assessments and program development activities in location and across Iran, as directed by the Senior Project Manager External Coordination and Communication: (5%)• Maintain good relations with project beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders and monitor contracts and agreements when necessary | |
